Change 1 (gonna be called my Life)

The school year is almost over. Summer is coming upon us. Summer camps and graduations. Its a time for change. Now change is a good thing even if we don’t want it. When I was about the age of 4, I moved halfway across the country. That didn’t bother me as much. BUt when I moved again at age 12, just after 6th grade, I just wouldn’t have it. I cried, I yelled, I argued about why. I even wrote a list of reasons why we SHOULDN’T move. We were moving because my parents didn’t want to send my brother away for high school. I’ve been in a very sheltered life. I’ve been in private Jewish day schools my whole life. (excluding ages 1 & 2) My brother had just graduated from 8th grade, we got a dog, I had my bat mitzvah, so much happened. We had been living there for about 8 years. This felt more my home than where I was born. So we moved right next to the Mississippi. Brilliant. Different environment, bigger community, new people… I was going into 7th grade. When we visited a different school earlier in the year, this was when I discovered that I am very shy when It comes to new environment. I knew I was kinda shy but this was a whole new level. I was sticking to the person I was shadowing. When I visited this school, same thing except I felt a tad bit more comfortable. I would answer questions and such. Still was the shy person I am. So when we moved it took on a whole new level then before. Now instead of being there for a day, I was there for a year or so. Fun times. 7th grade wasn’t my best year. I practically flunked out of math, was antisocial, wasn’t doing homework, I somehow broke a laptop by switching desks. (it was really weird then and still is)  This was also the first time english was one of the classes I liked. We had these weekly journal prompts  that I loved to do no matter what it was on. I was not afraid to say what was on my mind. This was also the first time I was doing sports since age 8/10. I joined the soccer team and basketball team. Since the school did have 2 plays a year (the boys high school and the girls high school) I joined the shul theatre group. I started doing youth groups and NCSY. I spent most of my time hanging out with a 3 year old. I also did some things I’m not proud of.
Since I’m basically telling you my life story, I think I’ll split it into parts. This will be part 1 but the next part will be from earlier in life.
