Hey, It's me Kayla and welcome to my corner! So I was at a party for my 2nd cousin. It was cocktail attire, very nice. I was one of the oldest "kids" there. It was mostly13 and 12-year-olds. And what I saw, disgusted me. I was repulsed by 13-year-old girls wearing booty shorts, crop tops, and 4 inch wedge-heel ankle booty things. It really makes you see how girls, younger and younger, are trying to grow up or be a teenager. It was uncomfortable. I've seen an 8 year old wear that and that's even worse. Society is pressuring young women to dress and try hard to fit in with whats in. They are trying to get them to grow up faster then they should. Society is putting a message out there that if you don't dress a certain way, no one will like you. No one will date you or love you. Back in the 60s and 70s, if a girl was dressed like that, they were probably a hooker. When I was 13, I was finally allowed to wear makeup and have my own makeup. If you don't dress this way, then you aren't hot or cute. But we aren't really doing much of an effort to get the message across. We promote it with sexy Halloween costumes and having celebrities endorse brands that make these. And even more, by encouraging them to start dating at such a young age. I wasn't even allowed to date until I was 17. I'm ranting and rambling. This might be made into a 2 parter. I'm ranting but I feel strongly about this.
